 Digireha Inc. is pleased to announce its plans to implement  the innovative rehabilitation DX tool “Digireha” in India, a nation experiencing a notable increase in the prevalence of disabilities, This initiative aims to improve the quality of care for young children with disabilities, who often encounter significant challenges in accessing essential rehabilitation services.

. In India, geographical and economic disparities make it difficult to meet the rehabilitation needs of children with disabilities. While, community-based rehabilitation (CBR), which is widely recognized as a considered  solution, it has not progressed due to the enormous budget required for the system.

What distinguishes Digireha is its commitment to accessibility and cost effectiveness. Digireha tools does not require specialized or expensive equipment and can be implemented with small sensors, a PC, and an internet connection. It is also capable of individual optimization for children with a wide range of characteristics and disabilities. 

By promoting CBR training utilizing Digireha, the company aims to address the rehabilitation challenges faced by children with disabilities in India. Through collaboration and innovation, we envision a future where all children can access the comprehensive care and support they need to thrive. 

About the 2024 Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Healthcare Industry International Expansion Promotion Project

This project aims to promote the overseas expansion of Japan’s healthcare products and services by subsidizing the costs of both basic research and demonstration research for healthcare institutions and businesses that plan and implement strategic overseas expansion of technologies, services, and products related to healthcare, such as medical care and nursing care, in which Japan has a high level of competitiveness.

The “Digireha” rehabilitation DX tool for children with disabilities was launched in 2021 and, as of August 2024, has been adopted by approximately 100 locations across Japan, including general hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, after-school day services, and special needs schools. Additionally, in order to address the fundamental issue of a shortage of specialized personnel, we launched the “Digireha ACADEMY” in 2023, a workshop that solves rehabilitation challenges using Digireha.

In the future, we plan to actively create evidence using Digireha. We are also developing an application that accumulates usage data to help evaluate rehabilitation, striving for a society where evidence-based, systematic rehabilitation can be provided anywhere, to anyone, and as many times as needed.
